Video production, camera operation & editing
Filmotion Productions is a video production company located in Sydney, Australia.Their projects include production from A to Z: directing, camera operation, lighting, editing, boom operation, and film-making documentation. During my job at Filmotion, I was mostly responsible for pre- and post-production and occasionally performed additional tasks such as camera operation, auto-cue, clapboard information and callsheet management.

Show me the way

Pre-production
During my career at Filmotion I was part of many productions that required project management.
To this day, the project that still stands by me the most is the concept 'Show me the way' where we were part of a 7 day production in Walgett, located in the far, far outback of Australia.
Walgett is a small village inhabited by Aboriginals and their children, and we were there to motivate the children at the third most challenged school of Australia to come to school and follow our project. Together with the founder of the project, I was in charge of the entire pre-production of this week, arranging everything needed for the crew to be able to shoot, as well as connecting to - and teaching the children how to respect to one another through the art of video.

Camera operation, autocue & callsheets
As with every video production company, at Filmotion we worked with heaps of freelance camera operators, directors, and SFX specialists. However, due to Filmotion being a smaller company, we as producers had to step in for shooting B-roll, operating autocue, installing audio equipment and managing call sheets at locations from time to time. For the project on the right I shot B-roll and managed all call sheets.
Save the best for last
Post-production
If you ask me, preparing for a shoot, running around on location, establishing camera shots, and 'being there' on a set is crucial for a production to succeed. Nevertheless, the post-production phase of a video project is where the video comes together as a whole.
For the projects on the left I was in charge of the post-production assets such as color-grading, subtitling, and most importantly, the edit.
